Times of loss are when we most need the support of others
Losing a loved one can be devastating, even debilitating.
The pain it causes is physical, visceral, deep. It changes us, and it can color everything.
Other kinds of loss can cause similar pain: the loss of a pet, a job, a marriage, a friendship, or the loss of our youth or physical health.
Grief is the process by which we heal the wound caused by the loss. It can be a long process, and we can get stuck. My role is to help you through that process: to help you to contain the grief, make sense of the loss, function in the world in the meantime, and get unstuck so that you can heal and move forward.
